Taija New, also known as the Newbian King, is a distinguished Rhythmic Pop entertainer whose remarkable journey began humbly at open mic events in her hometown of Springfield, Massachusetts. It was in these intimate settings that she refined her live performance skills, laying the groundwork for an impressive career. In 2015, Taija made her mark in the music industry with the release of her debut EP, "Color Me Complex," which featured the acclaimed single 'Newbian King.' This empowering track not only challenges the traditional gender binary but also serves as a tribute to her unique identity.

Throughout her career, Taija has exhibited an unwavering dedication to her growth as an entertainer. She has elevated her performances to full live productions, captivating audiences across North America. Notably, she has shared the stage with renowned artists such as Jennifer Hudson, Todrick Hall, K.Michelle, and Tiffany Evans, further solidifying her presence in the music scene.

In 2023, her efforts culminated in a significant milestone as she garnered official Grammy Award consideration from The Recording Academy for the 66th Annual Grammy Awards for her track ‘Over Your Allure‘ in the category of Best Melodic Rap Performance. In 2025, Taija contributed to the development of and served as the lead vocalist for the song "Fallen," which is the feature song for the award-winning film, Plight. Later that year Taija’s released her album "Unsolicited Material", which garnered her a nomination for the New England Music Awards in the Hip Hop Act of the Year category.

In 2026, Taija debuted her single "Butterflies" during the Launch Lancaster Music Conference and Festival, a song with a dual significance, representing both the thrill of first love and a tribute to her dedicated fanbase, the Newbian Team, which struck a chord with both her loyal supporters and critics. Shortly after, her single “CLAPPAS” further amplified her visibility after a live performance of the record went viral, surpassing 1.1 million views. Simultaneously, another video of her performing a remix to Ghost Town DJs' beloved 90’s record, “My Boo”, caught the attention of major recording artist SZA.  

With a fearless voice, commanding stage presence, and a growing list of career milestones, Taija New continues to build a legacy as an emerging force in music, inspiring audiences through performance, identity, and unapologetic self-expression.
