Taija New Presents: Monday VIRTUAL Open Mic Night is a Facebook Live show hosted by an entertainer for ALL entertainers.  This show is not a music review, it is a platform for performers to showcase their talents in front of an audience that is looking for nothing more than to discover new talent, to discover YOU! Each show has only 8 slots for live performances and submissions are open until the 8 slots are filled. Please be sure to read the guidelines before completing a slot submission.

What are the guidelines to get a slot?

Acts are slotted on a true first come first serve basis! Read below to see how you can be on the next [Facebook] Taija New Presents: VIRTUAL Open Mic Night FB!

• There is no preference on location, as an act you perform live from wherever you feel the most comfortable performing
 •  Performers must have the ability to join the live with your phone and a stable internet/data connection (Facebook does not allow users to join with any other device). Failure to have this in place may result in missing your slot for the show and a reschedule to a future date when slot availability allows, so be sure to take care of this before joining! 
 • There is NO preference in regards to acts; you can be a singer, poet, rapper, comedian, etc.
 • There is no preference on genres of music

If your act includes music, failure to meet the following two guidelines may result in being removed from the live:
1.  Strip the main vocals of original songs as we want to hear YOU perform live
2. If you are performing a cover,  make sure you sing/rap over a karaoke/instrumental version of the song (to avoid Copyright issues on Facebook).

How do I secure a slot?

When are slot submissions open?

Submissions for each date are open until 8 slots are filled. Once submissions close, they will reopen for on Tuesday to be slotted on the next show.

How does the show run?

Taija New goes live at 7PM EST. If you are a performer, you should be present on the live with your phone (Facebook does not allow users to join with any other device) , a stable internet/data connection,  and be prepared for your name to be called. Once your name is called, Taija will invite you to join the live, you accept the request and it's showtime!!

I'm not a performer. How do I become a member of the Facebook Live audience?

We welcome you to be a part of our live audience! Our live audience is an essential part of the virtual live open mic experience as performers receive energy from every member. Audience members are encouraged to comment and give constructive feedback. Our audience thus far has embraced every performer with open arms and has exerted nothing but positive energy, even if they've had constructive feedback,  no matter what stage the performers are in their careers. We do not tolerate online bullying or negative rooted comments on the show. Any audience member or performer who exhibits this behavior will be removed from the live. There will be no refunds for performers who fall into this category.

Our audience thus far has embraced every performer with open arms and has exerted nothing but positive energy, even if they've had constructive feedback,  no matter what stage the performers are in their careers. We do not tolerate online bullying or negative rooted comments on the show. Any audience member or performer who exhibits this behavior will be removed from the live. There will be no refunds for performers who fall into this category.

We ask that you be present on the live when we call you to perform.

Credits for Future Show 
 • Please make sure you do not miss your slot and that you have the ability to join the live with your phone and a stable internet/data connection (Facebook does not allow users to join with any other device). Failure to have this in place may result in missing your slot for the show and a reschedule to a future date when slot availability allows, so be sure to take care of this before joining!

No Refund 
 • Please make sure that you have stripped any original music of its main vocals , that any tracks for cover songs are karaoke or instrumental versions,  and that your content is appropriate.  Failure to meet the aforementioned guidelines may result in you being removed from the live and there are no refunds for removed performances. 
 • We do not tolerate online bullying or negative rooted comments on the show. Any performer who exhibits this behavior will be removed from the live. There will be no refunds for performers who fall into this category.
